'Dr Johnson's summer house at Streatham, 1773', (19th century). English lexicographer and man of letters Samuel Johnson (1709-1784) often stayed at Streatham Park as a guest of Henry and Hester Thrale. The house was later demolished and Streatham, then a village, is now part of Greater London.
