The martyrdom of Simon of Trent, 1493 (1849). Simon of Trent was a boy from the city of Trento, Italy, whose disappearance (and assumed death) in 1475 was blamed on the leaders of the city's Jewish community. A 19th century version of an original 15th century manuscript illustration in Liber Chronicarum (the Nuremburg Chrronicle), by Hartmann Schedel, held at the Cabinet des Estampes, Bibliotheque Royale, Brussels, Belgium.
