Légende
Houses at Eyam, where the Great Plague broke out, Derbyshire, 1924-1926. Eyam is famous as the village that isolated itself from the outside world when a case of plague occurred in 1665 in order to try to stop the infection spreading further afield. After 16 months only 83 of the village's 350 inhabitants had survived. A print from Hutchinson's Britain Beautiful, edited by Walter Hutchinson, volume I, 1924-1926.
