Dick King's memorial, Durban, South Africa. This memorial commemorates Richard King, who rode the 960 miles from Durban to Grahamstown in 1842 to warn the British authorities there that the garrison in the Old Fort at Durban was under siege by the Boers. The statue was unveiled in August 1915. A print from View Album of Glorious Durban.
