Légende
The Indian Mosque, Durban, South Africa. Large numbers of indentured labourers were brought to Natal from India by the British in the 19th century. As a result, Durban had the largest Asian population in South Africa. In the 1880s a modest mosque was built on Grey Street in the city. The building was expanded over the years that followed, with two minarets added in 1904 and 1905. A print from View Album of Glorious Durban.
