Interior of Lincoln Cathedral, 1924-1926. In 1072 William the Conqueror ordered that a cathedral should be built at Lincoln. It was built by Bishop Remigius and was consecrated in 1092. The cathedral was damaged by fire in 1141 and by an earthquake in 1185. A print from Hutchinson's Britain Beautiful, edited by Walter Hutchinson, volume III, 1924-1926.
