Burghley House, Lincolnshire, home of the Marquis of Exeter, c1880. The house was built in the 16th century for William Cecil, Lord Burghley, Lord High Treasurer to Queen Elizabeth I. The surrounding park was laid out by Capability Brown in the 1770s and 1780s.
