New York World Building, New York City, New York, USA, early 20th century. Designed by George Browne Post, this building was built in 1889-1890 to house the offices of the New York World newspaper. It was also known as the Pulitzer Building after Joseph Pulitzer, the editor of the paper, who commissioned it. The building was demolished in 1955 to make way for an expanded vehicular access to the Brooklyn Bridge.
