Arrest of General Richard Prescott, 1777 (c1880). British General Richard Prescott was captured by a small band of colonial soldiers at a farm on Rhode Island on 10th July 1777. He was taken to Providence, where he was held captive until he was exchanged for American General Charles Lee.
