Letter by Elizabeth I, Queen of England, to James VI of Scotland, c1588 (1865). The Queen is ready to drink of the river of Lethe and resume her friendship with James, to whom she makes a solemn imprecation in proof of her innocence as to the death of Mary Queen of Scots. The original letter is in the British Museum (Add. MS. 23,240, fol 67).
