Sir Samuel Garth, English physician and poet c1705-1710 (1906). Garth (1661-1719) had a large medical practice in London. He ended his career as physician to King George I, who knighted him in 1714. From the original painting by Sir Godfrey Kneller, in the collection of the Royal College of Physicians. A print from Queen Anne, by Herbert Paul, Goupil and Co, London, 1906.
