Légende
Thirty French knights battle the English, Brittany, France, 1351 (1882-1884). The Combat of the Thirty (26 March 1351) was an episode in the struggle for the succession to the Duchy of Brittany. It was fought between two groups of thirty knights, squires and men-at-arms and was regarded at the time as epitomising the finest principles of chivalry. The Franco-Breton party led by Sir Jean de Beaumanoir won, with Sir Robert Bramborough, leader of the Anglo-Breton group, killed in the fighting. A print from La France et les Français à Travers les Siècles, Volume I, F Roy editor, Saint-Antoine, 1882-1884.
