Bluejackets of the torpedo boat destroyer HMS 'Sturgeon', 1896. The 'Sturgeon' was launched in 1894 and was attached to the Channel Squadron. The photograph shows the 12 pound quick firing gun, mounted above the conning tower as the destroyer's bow chaser. A print from The Navy and Army Illustrated, 1st May 1896.
