Légende
Berberin boatmen, flooded isle of Philae, Egypt, c1922. The island and its ruins were regularly flooded after the construction of the Aswan Low Dam in 1902. The buildings were moved to higher ground to save them from further damage in a project organised by UNESCO in the 1960s. A print from Peoples of all Nations, Volume III, edited by JA Hammerton, The Fleetway House, London, c1922.
