Durham House, Salisbury House, and Worcester House, London, c1630 (1808). View showing three houses that used to stand on the Strand backing onto the Thames. Durham House was built as a summer residence for the Bishops of Durham, Salisbury House was built by Robert Cecil, Earl of Salisbury, during the reign of James I, and Worcester House belonged to the See of Carlisle before coming into the possession of the Earls of Worcester.
