The Most Illustrious Order of St Patrick, 1941. Third in seniority amongst British chivalric orders, the Order of St Patrick was established in 1783 by King George III. The order was associated with Ireland, and the regular creation of Knights of St Patrick stopped in 1921 with the independence of the Irish Free State. The last award was made in 1936. A print from Medals and Decorations of the British Commonwealth of Nations, Hortors Ltd, South Africa. The album contains cards issued by The United Tobacco Cos (South) Ltd, and Westminster Tobacco Co.
