Tomas Gener. Born in Barcelona in 1787, lived in Matanzas for several years and was Deputy to Cortes in 1820. Persecuted in Spain for his liberal ideas, he took refuge in the United States. He was highly interested in the progress of Matnzas and died in 1835. Cigar card from the History of Cuba, Geografico Universal, Propaganda de los Cigarros Susini y La Corona, Tabacalera Cubana.
