'Camp at the U.S. Naval Station, Guatanamo, Cuba, c1911. Guantanamo Bay is located at the southeastern end of Cuba and is the largest harbour on the south side of the island. The United States assumed territorial control over the southern portion of Guantanamo Bay under the 1903 Cuban-American Treaty. It is now the home of the Guantanamo Bay detention camp, which is governed by the United States.[H.H. Stratton, Chattanooga, Tennessee]
