'Garrick's Villa, Hampton', c1910. Garrick's Temple to Shakespeare in the grounds of his villa. Garrick's Villa is a Grade I listed country house located on Hampton Court Road, Richmond upon Thames. The country house was initially listed as Hampton House prior to its acquisition by David Garrick (1717-1779) in 1754. Garrick employed Robert Adam (1728-1792) to make extensive alterations to the property.
