Forum of Trajan, Rome, Italy, 1927. Trajan's Forum was the last imperial forum to be built in Rome. It was completed in 112 AD, and Trajan's Column, commemorating the emperor's victorious campaign against the Dacians, was finished the following year. The domes of the churches of Santissimo Nome di Maria al Foro Traiano (18th century) and Santa Maria di Loreto (16th century) stand either side of Trajan's Column.
