'The Royal Procession: Equerries, Gentlemen-in-Waiting, and Military Attachés Passing the Eastern End of Cheapside', London, 1897. 'The boys of Christ's Hospital (Blue-Coat School) occupy the open space between the Mansion House and the opposite corner of Queen Victoria Street.' Queen Victoria (1819-1901) celebrated her Diamond Jubilee (60th anniversary of her reign - June 1837-June 1897). Her reign of 63 years and seven months was longer than that of any previous British monarch. Here schoolboys in their distinctive uniform watch the military parade.
