'St. Giles's, Cripplegate, Showing the Old Wall', c1872. St Giles-without-Cripplegate in the City of London originally stood without (ie outside) the city wall, near the Cripplegate. It is one of the few medieval churches in the City to have survived the Great Fire of 1666.
