'Old Cockspur Street', (1881). The Phoenix Engine Fire Station in Cockspur Street, Westminster, London, as it might have looked in the late 18th century. Flames can be seen in the distance. Before the founding of the London Fire Engine Establishment (LFEE) in 1833, fire services were provided by independent companies, of which the Phoenix company was one.
