Portrait of Ekaterina Khrushcheva and Princess Ekaterina Khovanskaya, pupils of the Smolny Institute for Noblemen's Daughters, playing in a pastoral, one of the 'Smolny Girls' series of pictures. Renowned portraitist Dmitri Levitsky (1735-1822) was elected an academician of the Academy of Arts in St Petersburg.
