'What Londoners Used To Wear Displayed at Lancaster House', c1935. Displays in the Costume Gallery at Lancaster House (previously known as York House and Stafford House) in St James's, central London. In 1914 it was given to the nation, and from 1924 until shortly after World War II, it housed the London Museum. In the cases here are leather shoes, apprentices' caps, and a 'horseman of the Sedgemoor period', (1680s). From "Wonderful London, Volume 2", edited by Arthur St John Adcock.
