Légende
Lydford Castle, Devon. This square keep on the edge of Dartmoor dates from around 1195. At one stage a royal castle, it fell into neglect in the later Middle Ages, but was temporarily repaired in the 18th century when it was used for a time as a stannary (tin mining) court and prison.
