Highland troops at the Battle of Vimeiro, Peninsular War, 1808 (1816). 'Anecdote of the Bravery of the Scotch Piper of the 11th Highland Regiment at the Battle of Vimeiro'. The British army commanded by Wellington defeated the French under Junot. The 11th Highland Regiment's piper continues to play despite having been wounded.
