Transatlantic Clipper flying boat, Miami, Florida, USA, 1940. Postcard. The Boeing 314 flying boat was introduced in 1938. One of the largest aircraft in the world at the time, the Boeing 314 operated on various long-range routes around the world. Pan Am called their aircraft 'Clippers'.
