Southern Pacific 'Daylight' Coast Line, Los Angeles to San Francisco, California, USA, 1940. Postcard. View showing a train on tracks running alongside the Pacific Ocean. Palm trees are visible and mountains are seen in the distance. The 'Daylight' first ran on 1st March 1937. The trains were pulled by steam locomotives until 1955, when diesels took over.
