Women's coach on the North Western Union Pacific's popular 'Challenger' train, USA, 1941. Postcard. A female member of staff chats with one of the passengers. The 'Challenger' was a train service operated jointly by the Union Pacific Railroad and the Chicago and North Western Railway, running between Chicago and various cities on the West Coast. The service ran from 1936 until 1947, was reinstated in 1954, and finally discontinued in 1971.
