Steetley limestone quarry, Kadeby, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, 1955. Limestone was quarried at the Steetley site in Kadeby, near Doncaster for many years and prior to this photograph being taken in 1955, the quarry had been the largest in South Yorkshire. High quality limestone from the quarry has been used for the refurbishment of York Minster.
