East Midlands Gas Board promotion, Mexborough, South Yorkshire, 1957. A display for the East Midlands Gas Board in 1957 to promote the use of Gas ovens for cooking. The Gas Board and the National Coal Board (who produced gas from coal) were in competition with each other during the 1950s and 1960s and many of these types of promotions were run by both suppliers. This display was in Claytons in Mexborough, which is close to Doncaster.
