Ward & Sons soft drink bottling plant, Swinton, South Yorkshire, 1960. Ward's old bottling plant in Swinton, near Rotherham had the capacity to fill 7000 bottles per hour. In fact the speed of the bottling was so rapid that workers had to stand on a platform and wear wellington boots as a river of fizzy liquid would cover the floor. The new bottling plant would replace this one whithin the year.
