Retraining at the CISWO paraplegic centre in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, 1960. CISWO is the Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation. Some of the residents of the centre were miners who had met with an accident at work. Some of the residents and visitors are being instructed in the art of basket weaving. The retraining would give them new skills to enable then to return to work.
