Aquarium and Battery Park, New York City, New York, USA, 1916. Vintage postcard showing the exterior of the aquarium in Battery Park. Battery Park is a 25 acre public park at the southern tip of Manhattan Island. It is named for the artillery battery that used to be stationed there. The New York City Aquarium was housed in Castle Garden, an old fort, from 1896 until 1941.
