Mk 1 BMC Austin 1800 outside a tyre fitting bay in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, 1969. The Austin 1800, (or ADO17 to give it its official name) was first produced in September 1964 and was produced until 1975. Approximately 105,000 of the cars were produced and it was popularly known as the 'Land Crab' due to its low slung appearance. The tyre fitting bay formed part of the ASDA supermarket, which was known at the time as ASDA Queens.
