Légende
Edward III of England vows that he will make peace, 1360 (1864). After rejecting offers for peace during the Hundred Years War a great thunderstorm frightened the King (1312-1377). He is shown stretching his hand towards the Cathedral of Chartres and vowing that he would no longer be an obstacle to peace. The Treaty of Bretigny was signed about three weeks later on 8th May 1360.
