Richard III of England at the Battle of Bosworth Field, Leicestershire, 1485 (1864). Richard (1452-1485) was the last Plantagenet King of England. His death in the battle ended the Wars of the Roses and ushered in the new Tudor dynasty with Henry VII (1457-1509) as its first King.
