Ceramic tiles in Santa Maria Church, Obidos, Portugal, 2009. Santa Maria Church was the setting for the wedding of King Afonso V (1432-1481) with his cousin, Princess Isabel (1432-1455) in 1441. The town of Obidos is located on a hill and is still encircled by a fortified wall. The village preserves the medieval look of its streets, squares, walls and massive castle.
