Police arresting a group of hunger marchers in London, 1932. The National Hunger March of September-October 1932 was the largest of a series of marches organised in Britain during the Great Depression to protest against unemployment and hunger in the country. 100,000 people joined the march, which began in Scotland and ended in Hyde Park, where it culminated in a riot.
