The 'Human Letters' dispatched by Jessie Kenney to Mr Asquith at 10 Downing Street, London, 1909. Part of the campaign by the suffragette movement to win the vote for women. The 'Human Letters' (Miss Solomon and Miss McClellan) were posted from the Strand Post Office to 10 Downing Street on 23 January 1909. A messenger boy delivered them and upon an official stating to the women You must be returned the women responded But we have been paid for.
