Prince Eugen of Sweden, in front of his easel in his home, Waldemarsudde, Stockholm, 1911. Prince Eugen, Duke of Närke (1865-1947), was the youngest son of King Oscar II of Sweden and Norway. A painter, art collector and patron of artists, he was known as the 'Painting Prince' ('Målarprinsen').
