Nazi Deputy Leader Rudolf Hess with party colleagues, Bürgerbräukeller, Munich, October 1937. One of the main meeting places of the Nazi Party in its early days, the Bürgerbräukeller was the location from where Adolf Hitler launched the Beer Hall Putsch on 8 November 1923. After the Nazis came to power in 1933 they met there annually to commemorate the anniversary of the failed uprising.
