Two men pray in the ornately decorated interior of the Mosque of Qaitbay, part of what is now known as the Complex of Sultan al-Ashraf Qaytbay; built by Sultan al-Ashraf Qaytbay (c.1416-1496) in 1474; from L'Art Arabe d'apres les Monuments de Kaire; illustrations of Islamic art, architecture, woodwork, tiling, interiors, furnitute etc.; Émile Prisse d'Avennes (1807-1879) was a French archeologist, Egyptologist, architect and writer of the nineteenth century.
