Alexander Onegin, Russian author and historian, and Russian ballet dancer Tamara Karsavina, c1920s. Onegin (1844-1925) accumulated a large collection of manuscripts by and memorabilia relating to the Russian author Alexander Pushkin (1799-1837) in Paris. The Pushkin Museum acquired the collection and it was transferred to Russia in 1928. Karsavina (1885-1978) starred with the Imperial Russian Ballet. She left Russia after the Revolution and joined Serge Diaghilev's Ballets Russes in Paris. Karsavina later settled in England where she taught ballet and was involved in the establishment of the Royal Ballet and the Royal Academy of Dance. Found in the collection of the State Museum of AS Pushkin, Moscow.
