Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna of Russia with nurses outside a hospital, Russia, 1916. Born Princess Dagmar of Denmark, Maria Feodorovna (1847-1928) married the future Tsar Alexander III in 1866. Alexander died in 1894. During the First World War, Maria Feodorovna supervised hospitals in Kiev. She is pictured here before the Hospital of Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna of Russia. Found in the collection of the Russian State Film and Photo Archive, Krasnogorsk.
