According to Ovid, Jupiter took the form of Diana in order to force himself on Callisto when she was separated from Diana and the other nymphs After Callisto's pregnancy was discovered, Diana expelled her from the group. She then gave birth to a son, Arcas. Found in the collection of the State Hermitage, St Petersburg.
