Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Tallin, Estonia, 2011. Built between 1894 and 1900 by order of Tsar Alexander III, this Russian Orthodox cathedral is dedicated to Alexander Nevsky, the Russian hero who defeated the invading Teutonic Knights in the 13th century. It contains numerous mosaics and icons. The cathedral is regarded by some, particularly older, Estonians as a symbol of foreign rule. The architect was Mikhail Preobrazhensky.
