'Queen Mary's Coronation Chair', and 'The Dunmow Chair', c1790. The 15th-century Flitch Chair, from Little Dunmow in Essex, is thought to have been made from pew ends from the Priory Church. The chair was traditionally used to carry a couple who had been married in church and remained 'unregreted' for a year and a day. They had previously been rewarded with a flitch of bacon, hence the name.
