'Henry Fielding', c1754, (1827). Portrait of English novelist and dramatist Henry Fielding (1707-1754), above a shelf containing a quill pen and inkwell, the masks of Comedy and Tragedy, various volumes including an open copy of his novel "Amelia", and a sword. Engraving after the original by Hogarth depicting Fielding at the age of 48, probably made in the first half of the year 1754. Fielding died later that year of gout, asthma and cirrhosis of the liver. From "The Works of Wiliam Hogarth", Volume II, by The Rev. John Trusler. [J. Goodwin, London, 1827]
